Tenement Flat Alteration | Hyndland, Glasgow

One of our recent projects from Hyndland, Glasgow; The UK’s only tenement conservation area.

Our clients approached us with the vision to reimagine their, newly-purchased, 3-bed tenement flat, with the hope of creating a practical and useable family home for their young family.

As part of the development, we proposed to relocate the kitchen from the rear of the property to one of the front reception rooms, creating a large dining kitchen with plenty of entertaining space. In doing so, we were able to move the main bedroom to the rear of the property; complete with en-suite bathroom and walk-in dressing room.

The entire property then underwent a complete renovation, including an electrical rewire, new bathroom suite, re-plastering and a full re-decoration.

The works required a Building Warrant and careful care was taken in order to sympathetically reconfigure the property whilst retaining all of the flat’s period features.

Working on properties within conservation areas can often be difficult but with careful planning, we are able to achieve great results.
